16th International Symposium on Tardigrada
in Tsuruoka, Japan
We are delighted to invite all tardigradologists to the 16th International Symposium on Tardigrada, taking place in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan, from June 23rd to 27th, 2025. Hosted in Asia for the first time, this symposium offers a unique opportunity to present and discuss the latest discoveries in tardigrade biology—including morphology, taxonomy, ecology, biogeography, development, genomics, molecular biology, astrobiology, and more—with researchers and enthusiasts from around the world.
Tsuruoka, renowned for its rich culinary traditions, vibrant culture, and historical significance, provides an exceptional setting for this international gathering. As a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy, it promises not only fruitful scientific exchanges but also the chance to savor some of the finest cuisine in Japan. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in scientific discussions while experiencing the unique culture and beautiful landscapes of northern Japan.
