Proceedings

Symposium Proceedings

Symposium Proceedings will be published in the Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society (ZJLS), one of the most prestigious zoological journals in the World, published by the Linnean Society of London, one of the oldest scientific societies, and by the Oxford University Press, one of the most recognized scientific publishers on the planet.

Every participant (regardless of the purchased Symposium Package) will be given an opportunity to submit one manuscript to the Symposium Proceedings. Accepted articles will be published online free of charge. Moreover, the journal offers a paid Open Access option ( more information here). Finally, some countries and institutions have direct agreements with the Oxford University Press to cover the costs of Open Access publications for the authors (check here if your institution participates in this programme).

Participants who purchased the full (***) Symposium Package will also receive a printed copy of the Symposium Proceedings.

The deadline for manuscript submission to the Zoological Journal of the Linnean Society is projected to be around the end of September, 2025.

The Symposium Proceedings will be edited by Kazuharu Arakawa, Łukasz Michalczyk, and Łukasz Kaczmarek.

Talks and Posters

Talks
Keynote Talks: 60 minutes in total (preferably 50 min. talk + 10 min. QA).
Regular Talks: 15 minutes in total (preferably 12 min. talk + 3 min. QA).
The Symposium agenda is quite tight and we would like all Presenters to have the same amount of time to present their talks. Thus, please make sure that your talk does not take longer than the allocated time slot.

We ask the presenters to bring their own PC for presentation, but a shared PC would also be available. In the latter case, please prepare presentations in the PPTX or PDF format (it is a good idea to have the presentation saved in both formats). Please name your presentations according to the following key: session number (1–9), a hyphen (-), talk number within your session
(1–6), a hyphen (-), and the surname of the presenting author without special
characters/accents (basic Latin alphabet only, no underscores please).

Talk Session Chairs
Talk Session Chairs are kindly requested to keep the time of the talks. If a presenter exceeds a total of 15 minutes, Chairs must interrupt the presentation and discussions to allow the next presenter to give their talk. Time-keeping staff will be available to ring bells to remind the time to the presenters.

Posters
The size of the poster board will be 90cm x 180cm, so A0 size (portrait format, 841mm width by 1189mm height) would be best-fitting.

Please hang and remove your poster(s) at designated times. First set of posters (group A) will present on Monday and Tuesday, and take down the poster after the poster session on Tuesday. Second set of posters (group B) will present on Wednesday and Thursday, and take down the poster after the poster session on Thursday. Poster pins will be available in the Poster Room.

Presenting Authors are kindly requested to be at their posters during the Poster Sessions.
